An album with approximately 60 rich photographs of India, including Jaipur, Agra, Lucknow, Darjeeling, and Mt. Everest, and remote areas in Ceylon.
With sweeping views of massive forts, palaces, mosques, tombs, and mausoleums, as well as multiple sun-drenched scenes of the Taj Mahal and sweeping snow-capped views of Mt. Everest; portraits of the Maharaja of Jaipur, Hindu priests, snake charmers, and a Dandi (Kashmir); and views in rural Ceylon, including lush vegetation and old trees, religious temples and priests, and scenes of indigenous folks and their domiciles. Albumen prints, the images measuring 4x5 3/4 to 8 1/2x11 inches (10.1x14.6 to 21.6x28. cm.), and the reverse, with more than 10 views by Scowen, 2 by Skeen, and 2 by Bourne & Shepherd.
